Problem & solution

Uncovering the Core Bottlenecks

Fragmented communication and complex dashboards slowed dispatchers and drivers down. We designed a clean, mobile-first platform that delivers real-time route visibility and instant status updates with zero clutter.

Problem

The trucking industry relies on manual paperwork and fragmented communication. Offline bills of lading, disconnected broker-driver channels and on-road issues live in delays or accidents keep logistics slow, error-prone and unsafe.

Solution

Scan-It digitizes paperwork — bills of lading and e-signatures — while enabling real-time GPS tracking, automated updates and smooth broker-driver communication. The app adds highway alerts, peer messaging and revenue options, making logistics simpler, safer and more profitable.

Our process

A 4-Week Sprint from Concept to Execution

We moved rapidly from driver research and workflow mapping into iterative prototyping, validating key actions under real-world transit conditions to balance speed with high usability.

01

Field & Driver Research

Shadowed fleet dispatchers and interviewed on-road drivers to identify operational blind spots and delayed reporting loops.

02

Workflow Architecture

Mapped out critical route journeys, simplifying daily manifest validation, delay logging, and proof-of-delivery flows.

03

High-Contrast UI System

Designed high-contrast dark slates with safety orange accents, optimized for sunlight glare and one-handed dashboard use.

04

Field Testing & Handoff

Stress-tested prototypes under low-connectivity transit conditions and delivered component tokens for native mobile engineering.

Design system

Engineered for High-Contrast Mobility

Built for fast readability in sunlight and dashboard mounts: the system pairs safety orange with deep slate neutrals, accessible typography and large touch targets for seamless on-the-road interaction.

Structuring The Experience

We translated early constraints into low-fidelity wireframes to map user journeys, validate flows and make sure every step of the logistics process was clear before moving into visual design.
